What You'll Need:
Flat Iron (I recommend using a 1-inch flat iron for more control with short hair)
Surface Blowout Primer (for heat protection and frizz control)
Awaken Finishing Spray (to lock in those curls and add lasting hold)
Step-by-Step Guide:
Prep Your Hair
Before applying heat, make sure your hair is dry and detangled. For best results, start with freshly washed and blow-dried hair. Lightly mist your hair with Surface Blowout Primer to protect it from the heat and ensure smooth, frizz-free curls.
Section Your Hair
For more defined curls, section your hair into small, manageable parts. I like to start with the bottom section first and work my way up. Clip the rest of your hair out of the way for now.
Curl with Your Flat Iron
Take a small section of hair (about an inch wide), clamp the flat iron at the root, and twist it away from your face as you slowly glide it down the length of your hair. The key is to keep the flat iron moving, so you don’t create any creases.
Finish with Awaken Finishing Spray
Once all your curls are in place, lightly spray your hair with the Surface Awaken Finishing Spray. Not only does this add the perfect touch of hold, but it also helps keep your curls intact all day long.
Pro Tips for Long-Lasting Curls:
If you want more volume, gently tousle your curls once they’ve cooled down.
For added texture, use a texturizing spray before curling your hair.
Don’t overload your hair with product—less is more!
